GoSubsea offers the Kongsberg EM® 2040 MkII, the industry’s first 3‑sector broadband multibeam echo sounder and one of the most advanced shallow‑water mapping systems available. Operating across a wide 200–700 kHz frequency range, the EM 2040 MkII allows operators to select the optimal frequency on the fly—200 kHz for deeper penetration, 300 kHz for near‑bottom work, and 400–700 kHz for ultra‑high‑resolution inspection. This flexibility makes the system exceptionally adaptable to changing seabed conditions and survey requirements.
Built on Kongsberg’s proven wideband technology, the MkII version features upgraded hardware and software that increase swath coverage and improve data quality. It fully meets—and even surpasses—IHO S‑44 Exclusive Order and the stringent LINZ specifications, ensuring survey‑grade accuracy for the most demanding hydrographic tasks.
With its compact form factor, short pulse lengths, FM chirp capability, and advanced roll/pitch/yaw stabilisation, the EM 2040 MkII delivers exceptional detail for coastal mapping, infrastructure inspection, dredging support, and inland waterway surveys. Its ability to alternate frequency modes per ping also enables multi‑frequency backscatter in a single pass, enhancing seabed classification and interpretation.
