The Kongsberg 1007D is a precision sonar hydro acoustic altimeter specifically designed for applications where long range, high accuracy is required. All Kongsberg Mesotech underwater altimeter models can operate as a stand alone mode, or can be directly connected to the MS 1000 scanning sonar processor. The underwater vehicle industry (ROVs and AUVs) is the primary user of altimeters.
