The Impact Subsea ISA500 underwater Altimeter & Echo Sounder provides exceptionally long‑range measurement capability in excess of 120 meters. With 1 mm accuracy, the system enables precise underwater distance measurements suitable for a wide range of subsea operations.
The ISA500 can be supplied with an integrated Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), delivering highly stable Heading, Pitch, and Roll readings. Operating at 500 kHz, the unit combines a broadband composite transducer with advanced digital acoustic processing to achieve both long range and high accuracy. Three MEMS‑based gyros, accelerometers, and magnetometers are fused to provide stable motion and heading data, with strong resilience against temporary magnetic interference. A soft and hard iron calibration feature further enhances performance once installed on an ROV, AUV, or other underwater platform.
The ISA500 is widely used across subsea operations, including ROV and AUV altitude and heading measurement, hydrographic survey, touchdown monitoring, and underwater positioning for marine research. Its stable motion reference capabilities support scour monitoring, equipment deployment, and under‑ice measurement, while its precision range performance makes it suitable for wave‑height applications and other dynamic monitoring tasks.
