The ground breaking Impact Subsea Flooded Member Detection (FMD) system delivers a new level of clarity and reliability in non‑destructive underwater inspection. Using digital acoustic detection rather than traditional gamma‑ray methods, the system provides a safer and more advanced approach to identifying flooding caused by cracking, damage, corrosion, or other structural defects in offshore platform members, subsea pipelines, and similar underwater structures.
Designed for survey and auditing of flooded conditions in underwater structures, the FMD system is well suited for depth‑check verification and structural integrity assessments. A compact broadband composite ultrasonic probe works together with an advanced digital acoustic engine to ensure exceptionally accurate and repeatable readings. With 1 mm measurement accuracy and a range exceeding 100 m, the system sets a high standard for precision in flooded member detection.
Suitable for deployment by Divers or ROVs, the system continuously monitors and records water level, depth of reading, probe position, and water temperature throughout the inspection. All system control, visualisation, and data collection are handled through Impact Subsea’s SeaView software, which provides a clear visual indication of all sample points along the structure being surveyed. Upon completion, the software automatically generates a comprehensive survey report, streamlining documentation and audit requirements.
