The Geometrics G‑882 is a high‑resolution Cesium Vapor marine magnetometer designed for professional surveys in both shallow and deep water. Compact, lightweight, and cost‑effective, it delivers exceptional sensitivity and fast sample rates across all applications. The proven Cesium sensor is paired with the advanced CM‑221 Larmor counter and ruggedly packaged for reliable operation from small or large survey vessels.

The G‑882 is widely regarded as one of the highest‑performing full‑range marine magnetometers available and meets the stringent standards required for UXO clearance. It excels in the detection and mapping of ferrous objects of all sizes, including anchors, chains, cables, pipelines, ballast stone, scattered shipwreck debris, munitions (UXO), aircraft components, engines, and other targets with magnetic signatures. When operated close to the seafloor, it can detect objects as small as a 5‑inch screwdriver.

GoSubsea supplies the latest revised G‑882 models, equipped with digital pressure and altimeter interfaces as well as integrated pitch and roll sensors for improved data quality and operational efficiency. Older units in the fleet are continuously upgraded to ensure consistent performance across all rentals.

The G‑882 integrates seamlessly with MagLogLite™ software for logging, displaying, and printing GPS position and magnetic field data, enabling efficient real‑time monitoring and streamlined post‑processing.

  • Streamlined design for tow safety – low probability of fouling in fishing lines or rocks, rugged fibre-wound fibreglass housing.
  • Sample at up to 20Hz, unparalleled data density while also covering larger areas per day and sensor can be rotated for optimal signals.
  • Easy portability and handling.
  • Built-in easy-carry handle, can be operated by a single person.
  • Combine multiple systems for increased coverage – internal CM-221 mini-counter provides multi-sensor sync and data concatenation, allowing side-by-side coverage which maximises detection of small targets and reduces noise.
